Pap is a South African dish, a type of porridge made from corn flour. Traditionally, pap needs to be stirred for an extremely long time, even more than an hour, over low heat in order to obtain a silky, smooth texture of porridge without lumps. In order to facilitate the papa cooking process, Appetite, a pot for automatic papa preparation, was invented.Â
The task was to design a pot intended for the South African market. Appearance guidelines were twofold. On the one hand, the whole of South Africa favors German design, which is clean, devoid of decoration, robust, but on the other hand, the product is used by women who are more inclined to softer and flatter lines. For this reason, the robust appearance of the pot itself is softened by the softer lines of the lid.
