The Croatian Designers Association (HDD) is a non-profit professional association of designers established in 1983. Their mission is to promote design interests in Croatia, create a dynamic environment for design activities, educate about design, and encourage projects of general social significance. HDD organises numerous exhibitions in its gallery in Zagreb and throughout Croatia and abroad, as well as lectures, public discussions, and workshops for all ages. They particularly highlight the biennial Exhibition of Croatian Design, the largest professional exhibition in the country. They also conduct design competitions for public institutions and companies.

All information about their activities can be followed on the portal dizajn.hr, social media, and their YouTube channel, which offers over a hundred videos about design in Croatia. This year, as part of Zagreb Design Week, HDD presents its rich publishing program, which includes over fifty extensive publications on design and visual culture.

Collection

At the HDD stand, visitors can discover a wealth of inspiring books on design and visual culture. Monographs dedicated to some of the most important Croatian designers, collections of texts, publications on the history of design, and key phenomena in the field are on display.

Notable titles include "Fragments of Design History," "Elements of Typographic Style" by Robert Bringhurst, and "Interferences in Image Reception – Transfers of Photography in Design 1960 - 1990." Visitors can also find books on the works of Mirko Ilić, Boris Ljubičić, Nedeljko Dragić, Zoran Pavlović, Davor Grunwald, as well as works by younger authors such as Ivan Klisurić, Zoran Đukić, Orsat Franković, and Damir Gamulin.

There are also "Illustrator Dialogues" by Hana Tintor and Srđa Dragović, as well as Klasja Habjan and Marina Milanović, along with the series "Reviews of Croatian Design," which documents the best contemporary Croatian design over the past 25 years. All books are available at very affordable prices.
