Design that combines photography and text into a unique artistic whole.
The book is photographer Sami Rahim’s artistic project that shows Maribor as a city of culture and creative individuals. The monograph is a dynamic combination of photos and interviews. Every interview brings a unique composition of portrait photos and motifs from the interviewee’s life, which interact with typographically-driven elements of the text. The color palette determined by the author’s photos highlights the symbolic color of the city. The typography is designed around the serif and sans versions of the Calluna typeface, while the emphasized sections and titles are set in Migra.
