RIT Croatia is the oldest private higher education institution in Croatia. Founded in 1997, this campus of the prestigious private US university RIT delivers American higher education programs in Dubrovnik and Zagreb.
RIT is one of the largest private universities in the US (by full-time undergraduate enrollment) with over 20,000 students and more than 145,000 graduates worldwide. The university has 9 colleges including the College of Art and Design, Saunders College of Business and Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, whose studies are also conducted in Croatia: New Media Design BFA, Global Business Management BS, Hospitality and Tourism Management BS and Web and Mobile Computing BS. Other RIT campuses are located in the state of New York (main campus in Rochester), in Kosovo, in China, and in the UAE (Dubai).
RIT Croatia grants students two diplomas upon completion of their studies: American and Croatian. In addition to studying contemporary American stud programs in English, we are known for adequately preparing students for the job market, which we achieve through modern multidisciplinary education and a focus on experiential learning.
The term "breaking the glass ceiling," coined in the late '70s, was originally tied to women's rights in the workplace. However, today it has become a go-to cliché that no longer represents much. Instead, it's often used by companies to project an image of themselves as socially conscious hubs. Unfortunately, most of these companies, when looking at their practices, still operate under traditional norms.
On the other hand, Gen Z is bringing new rules to the workplace, simultaneously rejecting the outdated patterns that create such barriers—abruptly and disruptively, like a bull in a china shop.
As part of this exhibition, first- and second-year students of the New Media Design program question design and art, assuming that the rules of older generations are not necessarily the right rules. They demonstrate their ability to think independently, understanding that equality, inclusivity, and what is called a "brighter future" for some industries must be pursued proactively, not merely proclaimed.
