The URBAN FOREST WELNESS project unites several projects and student tasks carried out within various courses of the Wood Technology and Forestry Department of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the University of Zagreb (FŠDT). The main concept that connects all the projects is the design of the exterior around the FŠTD buildings, in which the relationships of forest, wood technology, and design elements are questioned, more precisely park architecture, trees, and paths, as well as the functionality of the environment, the needs of users, and the design of urban equipment. URBAN FOREST WELLNESS shows and indicates the importance of being in nature and the forest environment on the health of users. Perception of the environment, entry into the macro and micro world of wood and forest habitat, draws us in with smells, sounds, colours, tactile elements of leaves, bark, and branches into our interior, where we find peace, relaxation, and escape from urban everyday life and health. Surrounded by trees, we achieve green forest wellness. Part of the project was realised in the interdisciplinary cooperation of students of the graduate studies in Wood Product Design (FŠDT) and Landscape Architecture (AGF) in the academic year 2023/2024. Student projects are presented in the form of video presentations and models and show the independent scientific-research (design-construction-technology) work of students and their mentors.
