Dišpetoža Jewelry – stone jewelry seen through the eyes of a fashion designer.
The brand name comes from the Dalmatian word "dišpet," which means stubbornness or defiance, exactly what is needed to create unique jewelry from something so hard yet simultaneously fragile. Brač stone, formed through sedimentation, carries the joy of nature within it, and careful observation reveals traces of shells that make it special. Each piece of jewelry is unique and unrepeatable, as the stone has its own soul, which Dišpetoža Jewelry particularly emphasizes.
The brand's idea is based on using stone from Brač, enriched with details of Hvar heritage, such as Sun Lace made from agave. The earrings are inspired by motifs from Dalmatian life and bear Čakavian names like "Serpentine," "Jidra," "Botuni," "Cime," "Balote," and "Tri kvorta."
Their design focuses on creating aesthetically interesting, modern, and striking jewelry that is simultaneously simple, allowing the stone to shine. The stone is the star of each piece, and the design further highlights it. The creation process begins with studying the characteristics of the stone and selecting the design that best suits it. People are often surprised when they realize that the jewelry is made from stone and how lightweight it is, achieved by thinning the stone to just 2 mm. This process requires exceptional precision, meticulousness, as well as a lot of patience, persistence, and dust.
