Traumatique Collection is the result of Vicko Racetin's exploration of clothing artifacts, aesthetic features, and fashion trends in 1990s Croatia. This collection puts a modern twist on traditional silhouettes and shapes as Racetin delves into his childhood memories and traumas in an attempt to overcome old fears. The primary goal of this collection is to visually represent personal growth through nostalgic elements and a contemporary approach, pushing boundaries to transform clothing in a new and innovative way. The collection predominantly features symbolic black color and incorporates a variety of textures and materials.
Vicko Racetin is a young fashion designer and a graduate of the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology. While pursuing his Master's degree, Racetin won the Best Fashion Design Student Award at The Exhibition of Croatian Design 21/22 for his collection Delirium (A, O), which was inspired by phobias. Later that year, he graduated with a collection named [grand]-PA, inspired by a lost childhood memory dedicated to his grandfather and the old clothes he wore during the 1990s. In October 2023, Vicko won DIPMOD, a graduate fashion show, with his graduate collection.
In 2024, Vicko achieved further success by winning a smaller competition at the DA! Festival and had his first feature in the April issue of Vogue Portugal. In the same year, he also won second place from Instituto Europeo di Design (IED) for Fashion Trend Forecasting and Styling.
