The bed has become a multifunctional space – a place for work, eating, watching movies, and only at the very end for sleeping. As a result, its primary function of providing quality rest is increasingly being lost. By considering design as a means of reflecting the complexity of contemporary life, this project explores the blurred boundaries between rest, work, and leisure in everyday life.
Nunu is conceived as a modular piece of furniture that precedes the bed. Evening activities are relocated from the bed to a separate space, where they gradually tire us and thus prepare us for better sleep. Simple, playful, and soft, it invites users of all ages to discover their own positions through bedtime routines, creating a comforting space of safety and calmness.
We are 2nd year undergraduate students of Industrial Design at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture, School of Design. Our interest in design has developed through different perspectives – from architecture to exploring the potential of everyday objects. In design, we are drawn to the search for new typologies, sustainable contexts of use, and possibilities for expression through analysis, color, and poetry. We approach projects with special care, creating experiences that evoke emotion and encourage interaction.
