Project

The Video Game History Museum awakens the collective memory of generations raised on video games, showcasing the history and development of the gaming industry through a carefully curated collection of legendary and rare video games, arcade machines, consoles, and memorabilia.

The museum’s permanent exhibition is conceived as a linear spatial narrative that follows the chronological evolution of the video game industry. Each era is marked by a specific colour code, lighting scheme, graphic identity, and soundscape, creating a layered, multisensory experience that evokes emotion and nostalgia. Typical teenage rooms, styled according to each decade, serve as scenographic settings with authentic objects that spark childhood memories.

The exhibition showcases are modular – adaptable to the content and subtly integrated within the space, allowing the diversity of the exhibits to stand out.

A strong emphasis is placed on interactivity – many exhibits allow visitors to play on original consoles and arcade machines, as well as on newly developed contemporary installations. In this way, gaming culture is presented as a living, evolving phenomenon that connects with younger generations and encourages a dialogue between past and present through design.
