The exhibition Historija zaborava / Hidden historia, explores the marginalized and erased history of women who shaped the museum profession in Croatia, along with the broader societal role of women from the early to mid-20th century. The visual identity is based on the concept of forgetting, a gradient from red to white symbolizes disappearance, and the typography references early 20th-century design.
The interaction between the letters "O" and "E" in the title alludes to the historical stigmatization of women through the lens of hysteria. Pink is used to reclaim and empower the feminine stereotype, dominating the visual identity and exhibition design with a pop-cultural resonance.
As visitors progress through the exhibition, the pink fades gradually, ending in a completely white room dedicated to the topic of hysteria, cold lighting and mirrored foil distort perception and evoke discomfort. The label material typically used to protect artworks, and the texture of the fabric used for print, both reference traditional women’s labor, textiles.
