To mark the 60th anniversary of Dražen Petrović’s birth, the Croatian Mint issued a limited series of gold and silver numismatic coins titled Dražen Petrović. The packaging design was tailored to the type and value of each coin. The numismatic set was issued in only 6 pieces, while the higher-value gold coin was limited to 60 pieces. The lower-value gold coin comes in the Croatian Mint’s signature box, while the silver coin is housed in standard packaging. The outer packaging design draws inspiration from a basketball featuring Dražen Petrović’s signature. The innovative round box includes a dual-opening drawer system, and the inside features a basketball court graphic layout. The coin bears Dražen’s portrait and is positioned in his iconic shooting guard spot. The reverse side of the coin shows a successful basket, with the coin itself placed in the basket’s position within the box. The limited editions are packaged in eco-leather, while standard editions use embossed paper or laminated boxes with a basketball texture, adding a tactile element and visual appeal.
