This series of three promotional posters was created as a visual interpretation of Kinoklub Zagreb’s film workshops. Each poster thematically follows one of the programs: Transformations, Moving Images, Amateurs Behind Masks, connected by a shared visual idea: the main motif emerges from the paper. The posters combine photography, design, and a conceptual approach. All photographic elements were created independently, using manual paper manipulation to make the motif appear as if it is coming out of the poster. This visual technique symbolizes the transition from idea to realization, the essence of every creative process, while inviting the audience to actively participate in Kinoklub Zagreb’s workshops.
Melanie Palavra is a Media Design student at University North, mentored by Associate Professor of Arts Igor Kuduz. As part of an independent project, she developed a series of three promotional posters for Kinoklub Zagreb, aiming to visually convey the spirit of their film workshops and the creative process they inspire. The posters combine photography, graphic design, and a conceptual approach. Melanie created all photographic elements herself, using handcrafted paper manipulation to create the impression that the central motif of each workshop is emerging from the surface of the poster. This visual method symbolizes the transition from idea to realization, inviting the audience to participate in Kinoklub Zagreb’s workshops. Her work explores the intersection of analogue processes and visual storytelling, with a focus on thoughtful art direction that communicates clearly while evoking curiosity.
