Project

Famìa is an olive oil brand from Rovinj, a picturesque Istrian town on the northern Croatian Adriatic, rooted in a tradition of fishing and small-scale agriculture, especially olive oil—a staple of Mediterranean cuisine. The studio was tasked with creating a new name and packaging for the House of Local Products stores. Inspired by the fact that every Rovinj family once had its own olive oil from nearby groves, the brand was named Famìa, meaning “family” in the local dialect, while the store name remains the brand slogan. The logo features a subtle yet strong detail: the letter ì turned into a chimney with smoke, symbolizing warmth, home, and cooking. The bottle design draws inspiration from Rovinj’s architecture—colorful seaside houses. These shapes and colors, with windows open or closed, reflect the town’s vibrant spirit. The label turns each bottle into a miniature home, while the colors indicate different oil intensities, available in 0.5 L and 0.25 L sizes. By combining bottles of various sizes, visually appealing displays can be created that evoke the charm of Rovinj, inviting customers to collect every flavor and bring home a true piece of the Mediterranean.

Since the studio’s founding in 2017, they have worked on a wide variety of projects, from marketing campaigns and visual identities to packaging design and interactive physical exhibitions. Their work has received recognition from both industry experts and the media, earning prestigious awards such as Cannes Lions, Pentawards, Red Dot Best of the Best, Dieline, European Design Award Best on Show, D&AD, IIID Award, London International Award, Design Intelligence Award, Communication Art Award, ADC Europe, Epica, IdejaX, Somoborac, HDD Award, ZGDW Award, and the Zagreb Salon Award.
