A fresh look at family winery labels

Project

This series of wine labels was designed for a family-owned boutique winery with its own vineyards in the idyllic Jeruzalem Hills, a wine-growing region with a rich history. The goal of the project was to create a distinctive, modern, and bold series of wine packaging that stands out from the multitude of classic label designs typically found in the industry.

The central visual element of the labels is a typographic symbol—a bold, prominent, and contemporary letter. Each wine variety is represented by its own unique lettermark, reflecting both its identity and character: C for Chardonnay, R for Yellow Muscat (Slovenian: Rumeni Muškat), and Š for Sibon (Slovenian: Šipon). This typographic approach is not merely an aesthetic choice but a strong carrier of identity that differentiates the wine and tells a visual story.

Supporting information about the wine is strategically placed in the lower third of the label, ensuring clarity and readability. The color palette consists of vibrant, pure tones that further enhance the dynamism and recognizability of the entire series. The contrast between the minimalist layout of the information and the dominant typographic elements creates a contemporary visual language that stands out both on the shelf and in the hands of wine enthusiasts.

With this design approach, tradition and innovation merge, creating packaging that appeals to both connoisseurs and a new generation of wine lovers.
