Project

The book explores scaffolding as systems and connects them to the legal frameworks that regulate their installation, maintenance, and removal. It considers the narratives that emerge during the transformation and renewal of the urban environment, interpreting the relationship between the temporary and the permanent. Through a critical analysis of collected documentation and visualization of the points from the official document, it raises questions such as public space safety, urban infrastructure maintenance, and accountability in the context of various oversights.
Following the points of a document issued for the renovation of a residential building, the content thoroughly addresses the topic of scaffolding, examining its social, political, and cultural life in Zagreb. The book’s content is organized chronologically, in line with the prescribed points, using the comparison between theory and practice as the main research method. It is primarily a subjective interpretation of the official points, aiming to illustrate the problems literally—sometimes even exaggeratedly—to draw attention from both citizens and authorities.
