Klice Buntovnice is a project launched in 2022 by Barbara Zec together with Andreja Fazlić, with the aim of supporting local farmers and producers of food, eco cosmetics, and other goods. The primary communication channel is a podcast, covering topics such as design, strategy, marketing, and sales. The project is a way to transfer decades of experience from working with large brands to the local level, focusing on those who need support the most. Barbara contributes with her expertise in visual communications, while Andreja brings business consulting and digital strategy knowledge. The visual identity of the podcast is based on classical still life paintings, which are updated monthly to reflect the season or themes of specific episodes. Instead of inventing new visuals, the project uses existing high-quality artworks that celebrate food, plants, culture, and agricultural heritage. The logo is minimal and symbolic, a seedling just beginning to sprout. The brand color is purple, chosen intentionally as a departure from the overused green. While green is retained as an accent, purple symbolizes wisdom, independence, and inner strength, the qualities this project aims to inspire in its audience and community.
Barbara Zec is a visual communications designer. After graduating in Visual communications design at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture, School of Design, she worked as a designer in both small and large marketing agencies with clients from telecommunications, FMCG, IT, and other industries. Since 2014, she has worked independently for both domestic and international clients, and in 2021, she founded Studio Zec. She describes herself as a curious generalist. Her interests include inclusive design, especially approaches that engage people who are often excluded from society. She has participated in numerous local and international inclusive design workshops led by Prof. Julia Cassim and Assoc. Prof Laila Cassim, PhD, acting as participant, co-leader, and facilitator. In addition to design work, she writes about design-related topics and teaches graphic design at Algebra Bernays University. She is the co-author of the podcast Klice Buntovnice, which educates local producers and farmers on design, strategy, marketing, and sales.
