A redesigned device combining hydration, ritual, and functional design for shared spaces

Project

Sim-tam is a redesigned device that combines the functions of a water dispenser and a kettle, encouraging responsible water use and regular hydration. It offers precise control of water quantity and temperature, enriches rituals such as drinking tea and coffee, and accommodates various containers thanks to its large adjustable base. Wall-mounted, it saves space and energy, while its sculptural design and interactive smart interface make it suitable for shared spaces. A removable cover ensures easy maintenance in line with circular economy principles.

Author

Lucija Brkić is a second-year undergraduate student of Industrial Design at the School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. Deeply interested in product design, she approaches each project by exploring new typologies and sustainable contexts for the use of often overlooked everyday objects. Through her design solutions, she aims to offer users a new perspective on their surroundings—believing that interaction leads to a greater sense of fulfilment in life.
