The Vojin project is inspired by the shape of the curved steel panels on the façade of the Monument to the Uprising of the People of Banija and Kordun by sculptor Vojin Bakić at Petrova Gora. In addition to adopting the approach to material shaping, the project explores the interaction between the environment and the monument, particularly the interplay of sunlight and the metal façade that creates striking light reflections. The final piece combines elements of form and the relationship between material and light, resulting in an ambient table lamp.
The work began with experimenting with soft folds in a branched metal surface, exploring the relationship between material and light reflection, as well as the statics and composition, to achieve unity and simplicity in the final structure. The final composition is made from a single metal sheet, which, through cutting and bending, creates interesting spatial relationships and a play of reflections. A custom holder for an E14 bulb is designed and attached to the top semicircular profile of the shell using pop rivets.
