The Innovation Laboratory is a collaborative initiative between the University of Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski kotar County, designed to create a modern, dynamic space dedicated to innovation, education, and collaborative work. The flexible layout accommodates up to 80 people, offering an optimal environment for productivity and interaction.

Great care was taken to preserve the site's existing horticulture – greenery was integrated into the architectural vision to create a sustainable, nature-connected atmosphere. The wooden structural system enabled fast construction, ecological efficiency, and energy sustainability. Prefabricated components allowed the entire building to be assembled in just three days.

From initial design to final inspection, the project was completed in just seven months. The space is fully flexible – movable curtains allow for transformation into smaller units, improving both spatial adaptability and acoustics while introducing color into the environment. The annex can function as one large classroom, two smaller rooms, a workshop space, office, or gallery.

Floor-to-ceiling glass walls ensure abundant daylight and a strong connection to the landscape – cultivating an ideal space for innovation and creativity.
