We are living in one of the most critical eras of human migration, where millions are forced to leave behind familiar worlds and step into uncertain futures. Identity in Transit is an immersive installation that captures this fragile transition—the space between the reality we leave and the unknown we enter. Rooted in the migrant experience, the installation invites visitors into a multisensory journey through domestic objects, translucent pathways, and shifting reflections. These elements evoke memory, longing, and disorientation, revealing a reality that is both deeply personal and universally relevant. Aligned with the theme Shared Realities, the project transforms distant stories into shared space. It asks us not just to witness, but to feel—to recognize that behind every migration is a human life in motion. Through empathy and spatial storytelling, Identity in Transit reimagines design as a connector of worlds, awakening collective awareness in a time that demands deeper understanding and solidarity. The installation is lightweight, modular, and transportable in a single suitcase—an approach that rethinks materials, production, and logistics in favor of sustainability and adaptability. This practical yet symbolic gesture supports a regenerative design process, enabling the project to travel, evolve, and remain accessible to diverse audiences and contexts.
