Following the success of Slavonika, a conceptual kitchen presented at the prestigious Salone del Mobile in Milan, Ancona Group under the leadership of Markica Stanušić decided to continue collaborating with young designers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia. At the beginning of 2019, at one of the world’s most prominent furniture fairs in Cologne, the new Croatian furniture brand Nunc was premiered.

Nunc furniture is produced in Slavonia, in Đakovo. Designers from the wider region transform their ideas into pieces using the invaluable natural resource of Slavonia – durable, high-quality, and timeless wood. Traditional life and everyday culture are reinterpreted with a contemporary design language and modern technology, creating a timeless aesthetic of simplicity present in every “now.”

Product names convey the character of their design, complemented by the typical Slavonian vocabulary, mixing Croatian, Serbian, German, Hungarian, and Turkish words, creating an imaginative connection to ancient ways of life, with sounds and letters unique to the region. Examples include:

Bolta – a chair following the soft lines of the human body.
Ala – a collection of dining, office, and conference tables and table partitions.
Svib – a chair combining a metal armrest with oak veneer and a swivel base, providing stability and comfort.
Cot – a backless chair, timeless and dynamic.
Taraba – a harmonious and playful spatial partition.
Duja – an eccentric and elegant modular cabinet.

This is only part of the collection designed by Regular Company, Riccardo Carli, Studio RU:T, Nataša Njegovanović, Katerina Trpokvska/Rinocca, and others, under the guidance of Nunc’s art director Nikola Radeljković, who develops the unique minimalist design signature of promising young designers.

Nunc proudly announces the premiere of the new Knap chair, designed by the renowned studio Neisako, which will be presented to the public at this year’s Zagreb Design Week. The Knap chair is based on the idea of measure and balance, capturing the moment when everything is harmonious. The project demonstrates Neisako’s distinctive design approach: simple, refined lines, clarity of concept, and lightness, making the design timeless.

The creative direction of the brand is shaped by art director Nikola Radeljković, whose vision connects tradition and modernity, ensuring each piece of furniture carries clear aesthetic and conceptual value. The premiere of the Knap chair prototype marks an important step for Nunc, showcasing how local production and design can be relevant on the international stage, while highlighting the creative potential of Slavonia and Croatia.
