The exhibition "The Life of the Poster" explores the lifecycle of posters – from printing to multiple uses, recycling, and musealization. It features posters from the 1930s to the present, examining their duality as advertisements and exhibition objects in parallel spaces – streets, social media, and museums. Works from the Museum of Arts and Crafts’ graphic design collection are included, such as lithographic posters, long-lasting editions, and recycled posters like Booktiga (Studio Sonda, 2009), as well as the project Croatian Designers in Action (2018). Five Croatian designers created new screen-printed posters that both promote the exhibition and function as museum exhibits, illustrating the transformation of objects’ purpose and meaning. The exhibition also includes lectures on posters, lithography, and screen printing, as well as a hands-on printing workshop.
MUO Gallery is the new exhibition space of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, opened in 2025. The gallery extends the museum’s exhibition activities beyond its main building and serves as a platform for exhibitions, educational, and cultural programs that connect heritage and contemporaneity, the public, and art. The first exhibition, “Museum in Miniature,” introduced the museum’s future permanent display, and the space will continue to support innovative approaches to presenting art and design.
