The Miena collection is dedicated to river oak, wood preserved for thousands of years and extracted from the Sava riverbed. Its dark color and dense structure are the result of a millennia-long reaction between the tannins in the wood and the iron present in the water. Through sanding, polishing, and oiling, the rich texture and depth of the material are revealed. In collaboration with Swiss designer Stefanie Girsberger, a base made from a material of the same origin was introduced – the soil in which the wood had rested for centuries, transformed into glossy ceramic through high-temperature firing. This creates a strong contrast between the smooth, lustrous surface of the ceramic and the rustic character of the ancient oak. Each Miena piece is unique, an authentic fusion of time, nature, and craftsmanship.
