Institution

The School of Graphics, Design and Media Production is a vocational school that, despite changes in name and location, has been continuously educating graphic workers since 1894. Always in step with the times and market needs, it offers educational programs for technical and creative professions, and thus educates future printers, graphic finishing technicians, prepress technicians, media technicians, web designers and graphic editors - designers. It will soon enter the cycle of a new, modular way of education, so the choice of vocational professions will be even greater and more modern. We try to compensate for the lack of professional practice with employers by frequent project collaborations with various institutions or associations that need promotion services through advertising, offering students to get the opportunity to research a topic, design and present conceptual solutions and ultimately, with the help of a mentor, deliver a completed graphic product. In this way, students acquire skills for basic design and production processes that can be used as a basis for employment or further education. Students participate not only in professional exhibitions of graphic and audio-visual technology, sports competitions, but also in all events where they can present their skills and achievements in the field of visual communications, image and sound recording, animation, journalism, etc.

Exhibition

With this exhibition, we aim to showcase the work of students from all departments of the School of Graphics, Design, and Media Production. The exhibition presents the outcomes of their work in vocational subjects, practical training, and project collaborations through formats such as posters, advertisements, packaging, illustrations, photography, video, magazines, web design, promotional materials, and collections of illustrated poetry.

The works were created within six educational programs: Graphic Editor-Designer, Media Technician, Web Designer, Prepress Technician, Printing Technician, and Finishing Technician. The exhibition also includes interdisciplinary projects and award-winning works from various competitions. Our intention is to present secondary-level design education as relevant, contemporary, and socially engaged. Participation in ZGDW offers students the opportunity for public exhibition, professional visibility, and the development of their own identity within the field of visual communications.

The goal is to encourage students to develop design thinking and to prepare them for employment or further education. The exhibited posters and advertisements were created based on semantic research and clear communication with a targeted audience.
