Participants will be introduced to paper as a medium and to the possibilities offered by its production. Various materials commonly found at home will be used; egg cartons, cardboard, and old printed paper given a new purpose. A method for creating Japanese Washi paper from kozo fibers, also known as mulberry bark paper,  will also be shown.
All necessary materials will be provided: screens for papermaking, colorful pulps, threads, leaves, and flowers. A portable industrial press will help produce smooth and thin sheets and speed up drying.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials for use in their design. The workshop is suitable for all age groups, and the water bath adds a refreshing touch during hot summer days.
