Štrika Ferrata

Project Client: Tourist Board of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno
YEAR: 2021

Kanfanar-Rovinj railway line connected the economic centres of the Austro-Hungarian Empire with Rovinj from 1876 to 1966. This line is now a bicycle/pedestrian path called Štrika (as Istrians in Kanfanar say it) Ferata (as Italians from Rovinj say it). The visual identity is based on the presentation of the railway as the main element since it is still in function, but a different one. The font turns into wooden beams as part of the rail tracks. They became a text that evokes the railway’s previous existence and tells us about its new purpose through the route’s name. In the further development of the identity, it can be replaced by another text or signalization, depending on the material.

Since the studio’s inception in 2017, we got a chance to work on a variety of diverse and interesting projects, ranging from developing marketing campaigns, through visual identities and packaging designs, to realising interactive physical exhibitions. Our work has received notice from both industry experts and the media alike. To date, we have been awarded with prestigious recognition such as the Red Dot Best of the Best, European Design Award Best on Show, Print awards, Dieline, ADC New York, IIID Award, Communication Art Award, ADC Europa, Epica, IdejaX, Somoborac, HDD Award, ZGDW Award, and the Zagreb Salon Award.
