Collections: Waves (wave—shaped minimalistic rings, earrings and bracelets), Mediterranea (earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces with depictions of Mediterranean flora, such as rosemary, oleander, lavender, palm trees and olive trees), Islands (earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces with abstract archipelagos and Croatian Islands).
Jelena Fogec designs and makes brass, silver and copper jewelry by hand. Her inspiration comes from antiquity, the sea, and Mediterranean culture. Minimalism and reliefs are the primary design trait of all pieces. She currently makes rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. She graduated in English and German, and started exploring and using different materials to make jewelry first as a hobby, since she adores wearing jewelry herself; rings and earrings especially. She studied with mr. Davor Šuk at the Public Open University Zagreb, where she earned the diploma for contemporary jewelry designer. Brass and silver are her favorite materials because of the crafting process and the end results. In her work, she loves to experiment with shapes and textures.
Since this is an old craft, she decided to name the brand Minerva, like the Roman goddess of crafts. Also, the word ‘miner’ is embedded in the name, and it is another connection with metals.
Each piece is handmade, and reflects love towards the summer and the Mediterranean, and that is why she named some collections Waves, Islands and Mediterranea, and pieces Sunset, Midday Sun, Sun Rays, Horizon, Endless Summer, and Arches.
