Made of natural materials — locally sourced oak wood and stone — Sol is a modular outdoor kitchen inspired by the Mediterranean tradition of outdoor cooking and craftsmanship. This kitchen system consists of six different modules offering a range of storage options to suit various requirements and outdoor spaces. The table top is crafted from stone, while the oak fronts are complemented with stainless steel to ensure Sol's durability in outdoor conditions.
With its clean and contemporary form, robust volume, and tactile, warm surfaces, Sol serves as a bridge between tradition and innovation, showcasing the perfect blend of craftsmanship and modern design.
The goal was to produce a high-quality, long-lasting outdoor kitchen made from locally sourced materials - solid wood, specifically pedunculate oak (quercus robur), for construction and fronts, and Istrian stone for the worktop and sink. Key design guidelines included the use of natural, locally sourced materials, ensuring the product's longevity and durability in outdoor conditions, sustainable production practices, and customizable options to accommodate different spaces and requirements.
Studio RU:T is a multidisciplinary design studio (Tvrtko Bojić, Karla Paliska), which operates in the field of product design, visual communications, spatial concepts and interventions. In their work, they focus on practical and sustainable solutions, as well as experiments that question the concepts of living.
