Hana Jesih (b. 1990) is an illustrator and book designer. She is the co-founder and art director of the publishing house HiBird Books. She achieved MA of Visual Communication Design at the University of Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts and Design in 2016. She works mainly in the field of culture and creates author projects, especially in the field of illustration and book design. In 2022, she designed the author's project Radovedko, Bližnjica do znanja (a collection of educational and activity leaflets and posters for children) with the support of the Ministry of Culture. She illustrated the picture book Fant iz papirja, for which she received Special recognition for the new path for innovation, in addition to a nomination for the Kristina Brenkova award for original Slovenian picture book 2021. Together with co-author Peter Plantan, she designed the book Gamebook and received quite a few awards and recognitions for it (2nd prize in the Graphic Design category, Zagreb Design Week 2020, Brumen Recognition for Excellent Slovenian Design 2019 and some others). In 2017 she designed and illustrated the artist's book Impresije, Ljubljana/Istanbul, which was exhibited at a few group and solo exhibitions. Her notable works are also her master's thesis, J.P. Sartre: No Exit - book design and animation, and her graduation thesis, Albert Camus: The Stranger - artists book, for which she received the Award of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design.
