The project EDEN includes two garments that have been made under the following similarities: Both garments have been inspired by the same character, that is the persona of Madga from a screenplay, called One Night in Eden. The play follows the lives of five women who are working as highly paid-escorts for special events. The names of the garments indicate what the screenplay demonstrates, the fact that we show something else than we are, and despite all the difficulties that arise, we have to overcome them and move on. So the black dress is the dress Bloem from the word Blossom and the other dress Ferus, indicating a very strong will, like iron.
So the black dress is the dress Bloem from the word Blossom and the other dress Ferus, indicating a very strong will, like iron. Both garments have been constructed on the same pattern line, with a lot of ruffles, however, the black dress goes one step further as the ruffles are being sculptured on the dress as moulage.
Fabrics are different in quality and colour, however, in both garments fabrics are sustainable. Ferus: cork sleeve and dress out of organic cotton. Dress Bloem: Rasmir fabric out of organic silk. As filming of the screenplay is to start soon, both garments will be worn by the actress who will play Magda.
