The domestic design brand Metoda, which first introduced itself to the Croatian public at Zagreb Design Week last year, is once again exhibiting at the upcoming milestone edition of the design festival. Metoda will this time present a broader volume of its solid wood furniture collection with an emphasis on fine wood surface finishing and metal parts of the products. The group, including Numen/ForUse, Simon Morasi Piperčić, Regular Company, Mladen Orešić, and Neisako, are accomplished domestic designers who, in close collaboration with wood technologists from Spin Valis, worked to push the boundaries in design and production, aiming to create innovative products. By participating in Zagreb Design Week, Metoda signifies its belonging to the domestic design scene, emphasizing the importance of synergy between industry and design in creating high-value products.
Metoda positions itself as a brand in the international premium furniture segment, and during this year, it has already presented its collection at the Milan Design Week, the Imm Cologne fair in Germany, and the Paris Maison & Objet exhibition. By the end of the year, it will visit several more key European furniture fairs.
It's worth remembering that Metoda emerged as a reflection of the highly developed Spin Valis from Požega, which has transformed itself into a technologically advanced manufacturer of oak and beech furniture, 100% energy-independent, over the past 70 years. Thanks to the EU project CEKOM SPIN (Center for the Development of Innovative Wooden Furniture), this Slavonian company turned towards creating its own innovative products in synergy with domestic designers. The products were developed through a series of CEKOM SPIN workshops in which designers and wood technologists explored new possibilities in the design and production of solid wood furniture.
