Lettera is a brand inspired by the intangible culture of Istria.Lettera was born in Istria, but its values are universal such as the memories of home and the warmth of gathering around the table. Lettera reminds one of the earliest childhood spent in the countryside, the smell of grandma’s kitchen and her warm embrace. Parts of the Istrian rich intangible culture are recorded in the author's handwriting on the objects. A text is "deposited" on ordinary, everyday items, just like the sediment of the past that has been settling over the years and changing through the influence of different cultures, creating the culture of living as we know it today.
Lettera's plates tell stories from grandma's kitchen, while folk songs, superstitions and folk sayings remain captured on Lettera's pillowcases. The stories of food preparation and customs associated with certain ingredients or skills are written down.These stories are "printed" in the recognizable forms of well-known traditional specialties, ingredients or the shape of specific kitchen utensils.Lettera's "dalla Terra Magica" collection is produced in Croatia.
