At first glance, the monochromatic design of the space with fluorescent accents in the embrace of socialism in the buildnig from 1957 does not seem socialist at all. The entire space is designed as a creative platform and open studio for a graphic designer, where unique pieces of furniture of the architect created specialy for this space subconsciously dramatize memories from the past, mirror the present, and at the same time illuminate the future.
The once »closed« floor plan has been transformed into an open connected space with a circularly designed central part, marked by an art installation made of wall tiles – XXX POETRY. The installation was documented with a video wich was premiered at the architecture festival Open House Slovenia 2022.
Architect Maja Stamenković in her works create spaces with incredible magic and creativity, where details reflect personality of the individual using this characteristic space. In 2017, she founded MASTAR studio for architecture and design. She was locally and internationally awarded for her aesthetic and refined design. Her main goal and aspiration is to produce a timeless yet timely scenario with artistic pieces of furniture and installations - ones that are not only exclusive to the owner who commissioned the project but also to the designer who sculpted its form.
