Brand Gloopy is a series of diverse objects of playful design with personality. Wardrobe Creatures is the first realized Gloopy project, started in 2013, behind which are Lara Glavić Končar, graphic and product designer, and SunčanaVrtarić, puppeteer. Shadow puppets is the second project of the GLOOPY brand, the next concept of material and game research, using the characters from the first Wardrobe Creatures project, wooden puppets were created for shadow play.
With the help of a night or hand lamp, every wall turns into a theater, and children and parents bring the shadows to life with Gloopy characters. Two different sets are available – with forest animal characters and with sea characters.
All dolls are made of 4mm thick beech plywood, left in the natural color of the wood so that the surface can be painted. The materials used in the production are environmentally friendly, and the dolls come packed in jute bags with a booklet with instructions. The project was stopped for two years due to the pandemic and started again last year with the investor Tres media d.o.o.
Lara Glavić Končar is a graphic, multimedia and product designer. Throughout her long career, she has completed a number of projects, and she likes to experiment and explore different artistic and design directions (recently combining embroidery, crochet and calligraphy) in commercial and non-commercial design.
Sunčana Vrtarić is a puppet creator and costume designer with many years of experience working in the Zagreb Puppet Theater and numerous projects in other Croatian theaters.
