Pupa Franca is a small business, run by its owner and a fashion designer, Matea Pavla Rajšek Hrestak, focused on designing and making fashion and home accessories. Inclining both, traditional and modern in terms of intertwining the past and contemporary expression, stepping into the future with traditional arts in the background tries to revive and retain the beauty of handicrafts in the form of ‘slow fashion’ movements, defying uniformity and monotony.
All products are designed and handmade. There is jewellery made of textile fibres (necklaces, bracelets) and clay, as well as products for home and everyday life. All products are made in small series. The main idea is to transfer traditional arts (crochet, embroidery, macrame, knitting …) into contemporary forms of jewellery and products. In this sense, some jewellery models become an interactive playground for the wearer and entertainment for the observer. Materials used in the manufacture are cotton, viscose, wood, wire, clay.
