Packaging for canned sardines is primarily conceptualized as a Hook and Cook souvenir. They wanted to bring seafood products closer to a wider audience through the preparation of food with their sardines catch that is a part of the initial Hook & Cook offers. The Hook & Cook brand aims at a younger target group that wishes to embrace Croatian products while being aware of the importance of sardines in a healthy diet. Relying on the existing black and white visual identity of the brand, the packaging design is created through a combination of strong custom typography and black and white illustrations that depict elements of the Hook & Cook ship, sardines, and olives emphasizing the traditional approach and personal involvement of Hook & Cook collective in product development – from sea to table.
Hook and Cook, a brand for seafood and sustainable fishing in collaboration with Borjana Katić, a graphic and UX/UI designer specializing in graphic design, packaging, typography, and illustration, has created modern, interactive packaging for its own food product – Hook and Cook Sardines. Borjana won many national and international awards and participated in numerous graphic design exhibitions!
