Application is social innovation in the sense of innovating both product and process (as defined by Tidd and Beesant in social innovation “4P” – product, process, position and paradigm). Namely, by using VR technology, the education process for the position of a forklift driver is opened up and more accessible therefore creating new opportunities and positive social influences. It breaks down, in a new way, obstacles in education, employment and thus in achieving quality of life. Most importantly, it provides this type of education to people who are unable to physically attend and to people who have social or geographical barriers to education. (within the SkllsPower project, these are socially excluded groups such as prisoners, people from rural areas, the Roma population, etc.). In addition, the use of VR technology for most of the training process significantly reduces the possibility of injuries during training and damage to equipment or space. In this sense, it is an innovative process with significant positive social (social integration, security, safety, anti-discrimination) impact.
