The Zagreb Design Week audience development project in Eastern Slavonia and Srijem among high school students took place in December 2020 and January 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lectures, workshops and presentations were online, and the exhibition of final works was held here at ZGDW 2021. The highlight of the activity was a five-day participatory design workshop organized to raise awareness of the role of design in society and develop the ZGDW audience among high school students in Eastern Slavonia and Srijem. Also, this project represents the impact of design on the life of the community, natural and subject environment and raising the quality of the environment in which the workshop was conducted through the participatory introduction of stakeholders in the process. We believe that in Eastern Slavonia and Srijem there is insufficient contact of young people with design as a process and its application in everyday life. The structured workshop provides program participants with an insight into the basics of the design process through the creation of added value. The activity of methodological workshops is divided into two areas of design – product design and visual communication. The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and is carried out in cooperation with School 358.
