A kimono is a recognizable traditional item of clothing that has no pockets, and personal items are put in the sleeves. It must be comfortable since most activities take place on the floor. Indications of social status, personal identity and cultural delicacy are expressed through the colour and pattern of the fabric. I turned to research the anterior, an antique dress with a deep neckline on the chest and long open sleeves, present in the Bosnian-Herzegovinian tradition. Returning to the set mood board, I realized that the above data would fit perfectly into four words that would best describe your affinities: natural, free, magical and practical. I wanted to create a product that would combine my attitude towards intimacy, melancholy, a sense of lightness, organic quality and handmade. From all this, the idea of a unique housecoat was born, which will possess the qualities of a kimono, anther and caftan, which will be knitted by my mother, which gives the project a note of the personal and magical.
